Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a new sprinkler system cost?+
There's usually only one correct way to properly irrigate a property — the right head spacing, correctly regulated pressure, and enough zones for the areas involved. We price a job based on what it actually takes to cover the areas you want covered, done right, not the fewest heads we can get away with. If a competing quote comes in noticeably lower, it's worth asking what got left out. Every new installation also includes a smart controller standard. Reach out and we'll take a look at your property and give you a real number.
Why does my system need to be winterized every year?+
Water left in the pipes, valves, and backflow device will freeze and crack them when temperatures drop. Gravity alone can't be relied on to clear a system — water gets trapped in low points, valves, and the backflow assembly no matter how the pipes are sloped. Properly evacuating all of it takes a high-volume air compressor built for irrigation blowouts, not the smaller compressor you'd use for home air tools — it takes that much air volume to actually force the water out. Done right, a blowout is far cheaper than replacing burst pipes or a cracked backflow assembly in the spring.
Is backflow testing actually required by law?+
Yes — most localities in Virginia, including Lynchburg, require an annual backflow prevention assembly test to protect the public water supply from contamination. We're registered backflow testers and can handle the test and any required paperwork with the city or county.
Do you work on systems you didn't originally install?+
Absolutely. Most of our repair and maintenance calls are on systems installed by someone else — including builders, other companies, or systems that came with the house. We're happy to take a look regardless of who put it in.
Do I need to be home for a repair, winterization, or backflow test?+
Not usually. As long as we have access to the controller, backflow device, and yard, most visits can be done without you needing to be present. We're happy to follow up by phone or text with what we found.
Do you offer maintenance plans for HOAs or commercial properties?+
Yes — we manage scheduled monthly inspections for a number of HOA communities and commercial sites, covering routine checks, seasonal service, and priority response for issues between visits.
Do you offer any warranty on your work?+
Yes, we stand behind our installations and repairs. Specific warranty terms depend on the scope of work and parts used — we'll go over what's covered as part of your quote.
What areas do you service?+
We're based in Lynchburg (24503) and regularly serve Lynchburg, Forest, Bedford, and Amherst — generally within about 25–30 minutes of the city. We typically don't travel as far as Smith Mountain Lake or Leesville Lake. Not sure if you're in range? Just ask.
